How should I care for my jewelry?

Sterling Silver Care:

Sterling silver is a highly durable and precious metal, composed of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper. To clean heavily soiled pieces, soak them in 1 cup of warm water with 2 drops of dish soap for 10 minutes. Use a soft-bristled toothbrush to clean hard-to-reach spots, rinse with warm water, and pat dry. You can also use a polishing cloth with a polishing compound to achieve a shinier finish. For tarnished chains, it's best to use a silver dip jewelry cleaning solution.

Gold-Plated Care:

Our gold-plated pieces have a base of sterling silver with a thick layer of 14K gold plating. While the plating is designed to last for years, it can wear off over time, depending on care. To clean heavily soiled gold-plated pieces, soak them in 1 cup of warm water with 2 drops of dish soap for 10 minutes. Use a soft-bristled toothbrush to clean hard-to-reach spots, rinse with warm water, and pat dry. Avoid using a polishing cloth regularly, as this may remove layers of gold plating. For best results, store your pieces in an airtight container, such as a resealable bag, to prevent tarnishing.

To ensure your jewelry lasts as long as possible, here are some tips for daily care:

  • Apply lotion, hairspray, perfume, and makeup before wearing your gold-plated pieces.
  • Clean your jewelry after each wear with a cotton pad or microfiber cloth to prevent build-up.
  • Remove your jewelry when exercising, swimming, or showering, as sweat and salts can damage the plating.
  • Store your pieces separately to prevent scratching.
